Duilio Giacomelli


Managing Director SGS Italy and OGC Operations & Development Manager SEE Area & Libya

Born in Leghorn in 1950, he’s married with two daughters.
In 1970 he begins to work in SGS, Leghorn Branch, as Inspector for oil, minerals and agro-alimentary products. After three years he is appointed Responsible for OGC activities of Leghorn and Civitavecchia Branches, holding this office until 1982, when he assumes the Direction of Leghorn Branch for all developed sectors.
In 1992 he is subsequently designated Responsible for OGC Personnel Co-ordination and one year later Responsible for SGS Area north-east which includes Novara, Turin, Genoa, Leghorn and Rome Branches.
In 1995 he assumes the office of Chairman and General Manager of SGS Servizi Agri-Logistici. With the constitution of Natural Resources Department, joining the three companies SGS Servizi Agri-Logistici, SGS Redwood Italia and Alfalab SGS, in 1999 he is appointed Chairman and General Manager also for SGS Redwood Italia and Alfalab SGS.
In January 2002 he became Chairman & General Manager of SGS Italia S.r.l. including Agricultural, Minerals, OG&C and GTS Services.
In February 2003 he has been appointed SEE OG&C Area & Libya Operations & Development Manager.
In July 2003 he has been further appointed Chairman & Managing Director for the whole Group of SGS Italia Holding SpA.

Roberto Castiglioni


Business Manager Industrial Services

Born in 1954, he’s married.
In 1979 he graduated in Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.
In 1980 he started working at IBM Italia as Quality & Reliability Assurance Engineer.
After two years he joined to SGS as EAD Technical Auditor and in 1986 he’s appointed Responsible for EAD Administration Department recovering this role until 1988.
In 1990, after a two years job as EAD Division Manager Assistant, he’s appointed EAD Division Manager.
Four years later until 1999 he became General Manager of EAD (Indiv, Coprod) and in this year he’s appointed Chairman & General Manager of GTS Industrial Services and Coprod Division.
In 2001, with the incorporation of SGS Servizi Tecnici Industriali into SGS Italia, he became General Manager of SGS Italia S.r.l. for GTS, Industrial and Coprod Services.
From September 2003, he’s Business Manager of Industrial Services of SGS Italia Group.

Adriano Magnanego

Business Manager Oil, Gas & Chemicals Services

Born in Genoa in 1952, he’s married.
In 1972 he started as technical employee as designer with O.A.R.N., a Shipping Building company. In 1973 he joined SGS as inspector in shipping activities (petroleum/petrochemical/chemical/gases).
In 1984 he’s appointed Genoa Local Operations Manager for OGC activities until 1989 when he becomes Genoa Branch Manager for OGC activities. After eight years, in 1997, he’s appointed OGC Commercial Manager in Italy, covering this role until 2003. Two years later, he becomes Genoa Branch Manager of Natural Resources Department and in the same year, 1999, he’s further appointed OGC General Manager until 2001.
From September 2003 he’s appointed Oil Gas & Chemicals Business Manager of SGS Italia Group.

Paolo Pineschi

Business Manager Systems & Services Certification

Born in Turin in 1952, is married with two children.
He graduated in Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico University in Milan.
In 1977 he joined Ansaldo-Breda Group, as a Quality Assurance Engineer for the nuclear sector first and then as Quality Assurance Administration Manager.
In 1981 he joined SGS as Technical Auditor for the Government Contract Division, of which he became Manager in 1982. In 1990 he was nominated Assistant to the National Chief Executive of SGS Italy, with the task to manage the organization, the accounting system and the quality system of SGS Elettronica and Biolab SGS, two labs active respectively in the electronic sector testing and in the chemical, food and cosmetic sector testing. In 1992 he has been appointed Quality Manager of SGS Italy Group, being also in charge to organize and develop the GOST scheme in SGS Italy.
From 1993 he is General Manager of SGS Italia for Systems and Services Certification business, as well as the related training services.
From September 2003, he’s Business Manager of Systems and Services Certification of SGS Italia Group.

Egidio Agosto


Quality Manager

Born in 1954 in Genoa, he’s married.
He started working in 1977 in Ansaldo SpA as Responsible for tests qualification on electric & electronic devices.
In 1985 he passed to Esacontrol SpA as Quality Assurance Manager until 1990, when he started working as Quality Systems consultant at Ditel Engineering.
In 1994 he joined SGS Industrial Services with the same role and in 1997 he passed to SSC becoming PCS Technical Manager and QA Manager.
In 2002 he’s appointed Technical & Quality Manager within SSC.
From September 2003, he’s Quality Manager of SGS Italia Group.

Fulvio Chelli


IT Manager

Born in Leghorn in 1952, he’s married.
He started working in SGS in 1973 as loading/unloading inspector in the port area and worked for the control and inspection of consumer products for the area covered by Leghorn office. In 1978 he started to cooperate with “Petrodiv Division” and four years later he’s been appointed head of Petrodiv Dept. having the responsibility for shipping, metrology and labs and being in charge of vegetal oils as well.
In 1985 he has been flying inspector on behalf of Geneva in Turkey, Seychelles, Congo and different platforms.
Still having the responsibility for OGC Dept., in 1994 he is nominated Branch Manager of Leghorn Branch Office maintaining this role till 31.12.2002 and in 1996 he received also the responsibility as Branch Manager of Syracuse branch.
After two years he’s been appointed General Manager of SGS Redwood Italia Srl until November 1998 and one year later, with the constitution of Natural Resources Dept., he became National Operations Responsible and Technical Manager for abt. three years.
In May 2003 he’s been appointed Safety Manager of the whole SGS Italia Group until January 2005.
From September 2003 he’s IT Manager of the Group itself and from July 04 he joined also the role of IT Manager for South East Europe Area .

Cristina Franceschi


Communication Manager

Born in Pisa in 1968, she’s married with one child.
In 1989 he started working at Qualital, University Consortium in Quality Engineering composed of some of the most important national Italian companies, SGS included, a non profit organization mainly offering several kind of training services to its associated members and to public administration and university. Firstly she had the function to manage all the relations with the above companies and bodies, assuring the most profitable exchange of information and experience between them and Qualital. Subsequently, after an intensive training period on Communication Strategies with the participation to some full immersion courses organized by the National Association of Professional Advertisers, she further assumed the responsibility of communication activities until September 1999, when she left the Consortium for joining SGS.
In this year she started working in SGS as General Assistant within the Natural Resources Department (including Agricultural, Oil Gas & Chemicals and Minerals Services) until 2003.
From September 2003, she’s Communication Manager of SGS Italia Group.

Claudio Re


Finance Manager

Born in Milan in 1972.
Graduated in Business Economics at Università Cattolica in Milano.
After a first period, in 1997, of Sales & Marketing at Sediver S.A. in France, he starts working at Arthur Andersen, now Deloitte & Touche Italia S.p.A., in Milan, as Finance Auditor, until July 2003.
In this period he begins working at Industria Centenari e Zinelli S.p.A., belonging to the company Centenari e Zinelli S.p.A, listed in Milano Bourse, as Finance Controller.
In September 2004 he enters to SGS as Treasury Manager and in February 2005 he’s appointed Finance Manager of the whole SGS Italia Group.

Roberto Casadei
Business Manager Consumer Testing Services

Born in Lussemburgo in 1967.
Since 1990 to 1998, he started working at Squeeper Nederland b.v. (producer and distributor of finished and semifinished products in natural rubber and thermoplastic), before as Associate Manager, then as Sales Manager South Europe, later assumes Managing Director task at the Italian Office of Sweepa Italy S.r.l.
In 2000 assumes Sales Task Manager in Hipro S.r.l., italian office of american group Minuteman - Multi Clean. In 2003 he joined to SGS, before as Sales Executive of not alimentary area of CTS business, then as CTS Sales Manager and since May 2005 as Business Manager CTS. Simultaneously assumes task of Regional Key Account manager, for the Europe Africa Middle East Area, of Depot Home, market leader in USA, Canada and Messico in the DIY and Homeware sector (second group at worldwide level).
